Dennis Michael Omanoff has unhesitatingly accepted service appointments for the public on several different occasions. The Governor of California appointed him to serve on the Board of Directors for CALQED. He was also appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to serve as Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Examiner and was a U.S. delegate for the creation of several standards relating to ISO 9000.
Although employed full time, Dennis taught some of the most viewed distance learning courses with student enrollment at times exceeding 150 per class and networked simultaneously throughout the Bay Area, from January 1994 to December 1996. Dennis worked as an Adjunct Professor at San Jose State University. During his time in this position, he taught courses on a variety of subjects including ISO 9000, Auditing, and TQM.
