Michael Teres earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from Hunter College in New York City (1962) and a Master of Fine Arts in Photography from the University of Iowa (1966).
Michael Teres has been an associate professor at the State University of New York, Geneseo, since 1966. He participated in Collaborations in Art, Science, and Technology, Inc. (CAST), in 1975 and 1978 (funded by the New York State Arts Council). Michael Teres also won SUNY Faculty Research Committee grants in 1975 and 1978 and a Geneseo Foundation grant in 1974. He also studies the reticulation process as related to color manipulations.
Michael Teres belongs to the American Association of University Professors and Society for Photographic Education (SPE) (since 1964).
