First education he got at home. Pavel Vladimirovich began to study at the Karl May Gymnasium (until 1870), then studied at the Tsarskoye Selo Gymnasium, which he graduated with a gold medal in 1879 and entered the historical and philological faculty of Saint Petersburg University.
In the fall of 1883, Pavel Vladimirovich was sent to Turkey, Greece, and Italy by the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society to familiarize themselves with Greek manuscripts stored in libraries and collections in the East, Greece, and Italy. Immediately after returning from the East, Pavel Vladimirovich began lecturing on the history of Byzantium.
Since January 1888 - privatdocent of the Department of General History of Moscow University. In 1890, he was awarded a master's degree in world history. After speaking with the public on a lecture “Woman in history” in 1895, which provoked a negative reaction from the Minister of Education, he was forced to resign.
Only in 1905, Pavel Vladimirovich was able to return to Moscow University again. Since 1908 - archivist of the State Duma. In 1892, in favor of the starving, he published the book "Historical Tales by Pavel Vladimirovich Bezobrazov".
Pavel Vladimirovich died on September 26, 1918.
