Wystan Hugh Auden

Wystan Auden was an Anglo-American poet, born in England, later an American citizen, regarded by many critics as one of the greatest writers of the 20th century. Recipient Rollingen prize for poetry, 1953; National Book award for volunteer poetry The Shield of Achilles, 1956; Times Three, 1960; Alexander Droutsky Memorial award, 1959; Guinness poetry award, 1959; National Medal for Literature, 1967.
