    • Graduated in composition and piano from the Erevan Conservatory, 1941. Pupil of V. Talian, S. Barkhudarian and O.Babasian.

    Career

    • Perfected his art at the Moscow Dom Kultury. Performed his own works as a soloist. Artistic director of the Armenian Philharmonic from 1954.

      Taught composition at the Erevan Conservatory from 1964. Professor, 1971. Work characterized by the use of Armenian folk melodies.
