      Full member, Serbian Academy of Sciences, since 1959. 1947-1948 corresponding member, USSR Academy of Medical Science. 1956 founded Institute of Thoracic Surgery, USSR Academy of Medical Science.

      Deputy, USSR Supreme Soviet of 1950, 1954 and 1958 convocation. Member, Editorial Board, “Vestnik AMN USSR” (Bulletin of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences). Member, Editor Board, journal “Grudnaya khirurgiya” (Thoracic Surgery) and “Bolshaya meditsinskaya entsiklopediya" (Large Medical Encyclopedia), 2nd edition.

      1945 member, Soviet delegation San Francisco for foundation of United Nations. 1955 read a paper on “Heart Surgery” at 16th International Congress of Surgeons, Copenhagen. Attended 7th Congress of Yugoslavian Surgeons, Belgrade.

      Visited Norway and Sweden. 1956 visited England. Read a paper on “Surgical Treatment of Mitral Stenosis” at 4th International Congress on Thoracic Diseases in Cologne.

      1957 read a paper on “Indications for Vascular Anastomosis in Morbus Caeruleus” at International Congress in Turin. 1960 attended 3rd International Congress of Surgeons in Rome. Works on cerebral, thoracic and cardiac surgery, operations for lung diseases, etc.

      Since 1961 honorary member, Polish Society of Surgeons. 1918-1922 regiment doctor in Red Army. 1922-1926 at Saratov University.

      1926-1930 at 2nd Moscow Medicine Institute. 1942-1943 Senior Surgeon, Moscow evacuation hospitals, and Head, Surgery Department, 1st Moscow City Hospital. 1953-1960 President, USSR Academy of Medical Science.

      1956-1959 simultaneously Director, Institute of Thoracic Surgery, USSR Academy of Medical Science.

    Religion
