Background

  • Belov, Ivan was born on June 27, 1893 in the village of Kolinichevo, Novgorod Gouvernement.

  • Career

    • Joined the army, 1913. After the February Revolution 1917, left-wing SR, chairman of a soldiers’ revolutionary committee in a regiment in Tashkent. Commander of the garrison in Tashkent, 1918.

      Joined the Bolshevik Party, 1919, after suppressing a left-wing SR revolt in Tashkent. Commander of the army of the Turkestan Republic, 1919. Supressed the Cossack uprising in the Kuban region, 1921-1922.

      Thereafter held several high military positions. Arrested and shot.

    Religions encourage war and violence to promote their religious goals.

    Views

    The emphasis on peaceful coexistence doesn’t mean that the Soviet Union accepted a static world with clear lines. Socialism is inevitable and the "correlations of forces" were moving towards socialism.
