Konstantin Fedorovich Dan’kevich
Konstantin Dan’kevich, USSR Composer.
Dan’kevich, Konstantin was born on December 24, 1905 in Odessa.
Graduated from the Odessa School of Musical Drama, 1929.
Taught from 1929. With the Odessa Institute of Musical Drama from 1935. During World War II, artistic director of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the NKVD troops in Transcaucasia. Director of the Odessa Conservatory, 1944-1951.
Professor from 1948. Professor at Kiev Conservatory from 1953. Followed the classical tradition. Composed operas, musical comedies, cantatas, works for the piano, and choral and orchestral works.
