  • Education

    • Graduated from Moscow University in 1924.


    • Editor oiMolodaia Gvardiia in the late 1920s. One of the leaders of RAPP, 1928. Became known later as a servile and virulent Stalinist, his denunciations leading to the imprisonment and death of many of his former literary colleagues.

      Chief editor of Literaturnaia Gazeta, 1946-1950, during the Zhdanovshchina. Lost his influence after Stalin’s death.


    Religion is bad because it makes people base the way they run their lives on a falsehood.


    Every Soviet citizen has rights to express his or her opinion, but it should be in accordance with the general interests of the society.
