    • Member of an SR terrorist group. Close friend of Gippius and Merezhkovskii. Well-known member of intellectual circles before World War I. After the February Revolution 1917, Commissar of the Black Sea Navy.

      Emigrated after the Civil War. One of the editors of the Paris magazine, Sovremennye Zapiski in the 1920s and 1930s. After the German occupation of Paris, deported to a Nazi concentration camp, where he died.
