    • Priest in the Orthodox church. Professor of the Old Testament at the Kiev Theological Academy. Gave important evidence for the defence at the famous Beilis trial in Kiev in 1913.

      Well-known theological writer. Arrested, 1930, but soon released. Re-arrested, 1938.
