Lived most of her life in Paris. In the late 19th century, hostess of a literary salon frequented by French celebrities. Later became a friend of Russian writers and artists visiting Paris in the early 20th century (Voloshin, Merezhkovskii and Gippius, M. Kovalevskii, Vengerov, Kropotkin, Minskii, and Repin).
In the 1920s, became a close companion of Prince Pavel Dolgorukov, who returned to Russia and was executed by the Cheka. Her daughter married Iu. Semenov, editor of the Parisian right-wing Russian daily Vozrozhdenie.
