Graduated from the Leningrad Polytechnical Institute, 1940.
Chief engineer in the Energy Laboratory and Construction Bureau at the Kirov Works, Leningrad, 1940-1949. Probably worked in the military industry since there is no trace of his military service during the war. First publications in 1949.
Became an established writer in the 1960s. Very often appeared in Literaturnaia Gazeta and Moscow News. In a brief article in the latter reviewing the 1970s, condemned L. Brezhnevas a medal-lover, who had lost contact with reality and fallen for praise from toadies.
