      Commander of the Black Sea fleet, 1938, and of the Pacific fleet, 1939. Took part in operations against Japan in the final stages of World War II. Deputy Minister of Defence, and Commander in Chief of the Soviet Navy, 1947. Non-voting member of the Central Committee of the Bolshevik Party, 1941-1956.

      Soviet Naval Minister 1950. Head of the Naval Academy, 1951-1957.

    The emphasis on peaceful coexistence doesn’t mean that the Soviet Union accepted a static world with clear lines. Socialism is inevitable and the "correlations of forces" were moving towards socialism.
