Kameneva, Olga was born in 1881.
Sister of L. Trotsky and wife of L. Kamenev. Became prominent after the Bolshevik take-over 1917, as head of the theatre department (TEO) of the People’s Commissariat for Education, and as an organizer of a revolutionary salon, where the hungry writers and poets of the time could find hospitality and some semblance of former literary gatherings. Described by her guests as ‘conceited and dull but without malice’.
Arrested after the execution of her husband, and perished in the Gulag.
