Konstantin Mardzhanov, USSR Stage director.
Mardzhanov, Konstantin was born on June 9, 1872 in Georgia, United States.
With MKHAT, 1910-1913. Influenced by Stanislavskii and Nemirovich-Danchenko. Founded his own Svobodnyi Theatre in Moscow, 1913, which specialized in mime.
Returned to Georgia. With the Rustaveli Theatre in Tbilisi, 1922. Founded the State Theatre of Georgia, now the Mardzhanishvili Theatre, 1928. Worked also in comic opera, operetta and show business.
Regarded as one of the founders of the Soviet Georgian theatre. Guest director at various Moscow theatres.
