  • Pavlova, Maria was born on June 27, 1854 in Kozelsk, now in the Kaluzhskaia Oblast’.

  • Career

    • Specialised in palaeontology in Paris under A. Godri. Professor at Moscow University, 1919-1930. Together with her husband A. P. Pavlov, founded the Geological Museum at Moscow University.

      Worked there from 1885. The museum is now called the Pavlovs Geological Institute. Left several works on prehistoric animal remains.

    Religious faith contradicts people’s efforts to obtain the truth about nature and a human being.

    Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
