      Broke with the USSR, 1930. Lived in Paris as a political emigre. Lecturer on Russian history, language and economics.

      Moved to the USA, 1946. For the next 16 years, worked at the United Nations. Taught Russian to American diplomats.

      Senior interpreter at UNESCO. From 1960, head of the Russian School, Norwich, Vermont. Lecturer there on Russian culture and history. Moved to Montreal, 1962.

      Professor at McGill University. Lecturer at Ottawa University. Wellknown public figure in the Russian community in Canada.
