Anatolii Galaktionovich Petritskii
Anatolii Petritskii, USSR Stage-designer.
Petritskii, Anatolii was born on February 12, 1895 in Kiev.
Graduated from the Kiev School of Art, 1918, then from the VKHUTEMAS, Moscow, 1924.
Began his career with the theatre in 1914. His work in connection with ballet began in the 1920s with the Moscow Chamber Ballet, and in the company directed by M. M. Mordkin. His stylised art was later characterized by monumental traits and richness of colour in sets and costumes, using Ukrainian folk motives.
Worked for ballets, 1925-1960. Principal stagedesigner at the Shevchenko Theatre, 1953-1960.
