Vasilii Petrov, USSR Singer (bass).


  • Petrov, Vasilii was born on March 12, 1875 in the village of Alekseevka, now Khar’kov Oblast’.

  • Education

    • Graduated from the Moscow Conservatory, 1902. Pupil of A. I. Bartsal.


    • Soloist with the Bolshoi Theatre, 1902-1907. Appeared in concerts. Guest appearances abroad.

      Director of vocal training with the Stanislavskii Opera, 1925-1929, and with the Operatic Studio of the Bolshoi Theatre, 1935-1937. Towards the end of his life, taught at the Glazunov Technical School of Music.
