Polunin, Vladimir was born on April 22, 1880 in Kiev.
Studied art in Munich from 1904-1907 and later in Russia under Boris Anisfeld.
In 1910, left Russia and went to live in England. Most of his theatrical designs were created for Diaghilev, Sir Thomas Beecham’s company and the Sadler’s Wells Ballet. From 1929 to 1948, taught stage design at the Slade School in London.
