Nikolai Arkhipovich Prokopiuk

Nikolai Prokopiuk, USSR State security official.


  • Prokopiuk, Nikolai was born on June 7, 1902 in the village of Samchiki in the Ukraine.

  • Career

    • In the Red Army during the Civil War, 1918-1920, then joined the Cheka. Sent as an NKVD official to Spain during the Civil War. During World War II, head of the special Cheka group Okhotniki on a terror mission in German-occupied Ukraine, 1942-1944.

      Sent as an NKVD official to help Mao Tse-tung in China, 1944-1946. Retired, 1950.


    Religion is a cause of numerous conflicts and bloody wars throughout the history of mankind.


    The emphasis on peaceful coexistence doesn’t mean that the Soviet Union accepted a static world with clear lines. Socialism is inevitable and the "correlations of forces" were moving towards socialism.
