Isaak RABINOVICH, USSR Artist. Chief Designer, Vakhtangov Academy Theater, Moscow, since 1955; Honoured Art Worker Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic since 1936. Order of Red Banner of Labor.

    Career

    • 1911-1920 worked in Kiev theaters. Since 1920 in Moscow theaters. Designed sets for: Lope de Vega’s “Fuente Ovejuna” (The Ovine Spring) staged in Kiev, 1919.

      Aristophanes’ “Lysistrata” at the Musical Studio, Moscow Arts Theater 1923. Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin’* at the Bolshoy Theater, 1933. Akost G’ Gutskov’s “Uriel” at the Maly Theater.

      1940, etc.; designed sets for stage versions, of Dostoevsky’s “Idiot” (The Idiot), Shakespeare's “Hamlet” (1958), etc., at the Vakhtangov Academy Theater, Moscow. Also engaged in easel painting.
