    • Moved to Moscow where he studied at the Conservatory. Orchestrated many pieces by other composers such as Skriabin, Liszt and Chopin. Editor of the State Hymn of the Soviet Union.

      His pupils included A. Khachaturian, T. Khrennikov, R. Shchedrin and A. Eshpai.
