    Career

    • One of the organizers of the surgery department of the Soldatenkovskaia Hospital (now Botkin Hospital). Chief surgeon of the hospital, 1910. On 23 April 1922, operated on V. Lenin (this was Lenin’s second operation as a result of Dora Kaplan’s attempt on his life, August 1918).

      From 1929, chief surgeon of the Kremlin Hospital. Also taught at the Teaching Hospital. Diagnosed Stalin’s paranoia in the early 1930s.

    Religious faith contradicts people’s efforts to obtain the truth about nature and a human being.

    Views

    Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
