  • Education

    • Educated at a pilots’ school, 1932. Graduated from the Academy of the General Staff, 1955.


    • Joined the Red Army, 1929, and the Bolshevik Party, 1931. Fighter pilot during World War II, twice Hero of the Soviet Union. Commander of Soviet fighter forces, 1948.

      Non-voting member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, 1961-1966. Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Soviet Anti-Aircraft Forces, 1966— 1980.


    Religious leaders contribute to secular and religious wars by endorsing or supporting the violence.


    The emphasis on peaceful coexistence doesn’t mean that the Soviet Union accepted a static world with clear lines. Socialism is inevitable and the "correlations of forces" were moving towards socialism.
