Shatunovskaia, Lidia was born in 1906 in Odessa. Wife of the physicist Lev Tumerman.
Graduated from the Moscow Theatre Institute.
Theatre critic for various Moscow magazines. After her husband’s arrest in 1947, arrested also, as ‘the wife of an enemy of the people’. Sentenced to 20 years in camps.
Released after Stalin’s death, 1954. Left the USSR, 1972. Settled in Israel. Wrote memoirs: Zhizn V Kremle, USA, 1982.
