Georgii Lukich Smirnov
Georgii Smirnov, USSR Politician.
Smirnov, Georgii was born in 1922.
Graduated from the Volgograd Pedagogical Institute, 1952, and from the Communist Party of the Soviet Union Central.
Started his career as an activist in the Komsomol, 1942, gradually moved to key party posts in the Central Committee apparatus, 1957-1962. Committee Academy of Social Sciences, 1957. Assistant professor, Doctor of Philosophical Sciences, 1971.
Member of the editorial staff of the theoretical organ of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Kommunist,
1962-1965. Posts in the Central Committee, 1965-1969. Deputy chief of the Propaganda Department, 1969-1974.
1st deputy chief, 1974. Candidate member of the Central Committee, 1976. Gorbachev’s aide from 1985.
Head of the Marxism-Leninism Institute in Moscow.
