    • Tailor by profession. Joined the Bolsheviks in 1906. Party worker in Moscow, Samara (now Kuibyshev), Rostov-on-Don, Tsaritsyn (now Volgograd).

      From 1912, party worker in the Ukraine (Kiev, Khar’kov, Odessa). Organizer of illegal party cells. Several short arrests.

      In 1914, exiled to Siberia. After the February Revolution 1917, party post in Kiev. From 1918, illegal party work in Odessa.

      Chairman of an underground party cttee. in the Ukraine. One of the organizers of the Inostrannaia Kollegia in charge of agitation and propaganda among the armies of the Allies during the Civil War. Chairman of the Odessa Revkom.

      Member of the VTSIK. Arrested, March 1919, by the Whites and executed in Odessa.
