    • Graduated from the Moscow Theatrical School. Pupil of N. Domashev.

    Career

    • With the Bolshoi Theatre, 1910-1953. One of the leading Soviet classical dancers. Taught at the Moscow Choreographic School from 1920.

      Among his pupils were Asaf Messerer and Mikhail Gabovich. Choreographer and coach with the Bolshoi Theatre from 1934. Produced, in collaboration with V. Kudriavtseva, the ballet Giselle at the Moscow ballet theatre OstrovTantsa, 1939.

      Conducted many performances with a branch of the Bolshoi Theatre during World War II.
