Anna Iosifovna Sobeshchanskaia
Anna Sobeshchanskaia, USSR Ballerina, ballet teacher.
Sobeshchanskaia, Anna was born on January 15, 1842.
While a student at the Moscow Theatre School, appeared with the Bolshoi Theatre. Among her roles was that of the Gitana in Felipe Taglioni’s eponymous production. In her later career, developed a realistic style.
Appeared as Aspiccia in the Pharao’s Daughter (choreography by Marius Petipa). Ended her stage career in 1879, and became a teacher of young ballerinas.
