Sergei Aleksandrovich Sokolov

Sokolov, Sergei was born in 1876.
Member of symbolist circles before World War I, owner of the symbolist publishing house Grif, 1903-1913. During World War I, at the front, taken prisoner by the Germans, in POW camps together with Tukhachevskii. During the Civil War, joined the Whites, worked in the propaganda department of Denikin’s army, 1919.
Emigrated, 1920, settled in Paris. Moved to Berlin, 1922, founded the publishing house Mednyi Vsadnik. After the Nazis came to power, fled to France.
