    Career

    • As a student at the Petersburg Theatre School appeared with the Petersburg Bolshoi Theatre in ballets by Cesare Pugni. Ioganson. Appeared in the ballet Amur Blagodetel’, specially created for her by Marius Petipa. With the Mariinskii Theatre from 1869.

      First major role: Esmeralda, 1870. Left the stage, 1886. Chief coach with the ballet classes at the Mariinskii Theatre, 1902-1904.

      Teacher and coach with the State Theatres, 1920-1923. Among her pupils were Matilda Kshesinskaia, Anna Pavlova and Vera Trefilova.
