    • Taught at the Sinodal'noe Uchilishche, 1912-1918. Conductor of the Synod choir, 1912-1918. Chief choir conductor at the Bolshoi Theatre, 1926-1936, and at the Kirov Opera Theatre, Leningrad, 1936-1950.

      Taught at the Moscow and Leningrad conservatories. From 1946, professor of both.
