Pavel Andreevich Taran

Pavel Taran, USSR Lieutenant-general.


  • Taran, Pavel was born in 1916.

  • Education

    • Educated at a pilots’ school, 1938. Graduated from the Academy of the General Staff, 1958.


    • Joined the Red Army, 1937. Took part in the Soviet-Finnish war, 1939-1940. During World War II, commanded bomber groups, and acted as a pilot instructor.

      Worked at the Ministry of Defence, 1960-1979.


    Religion is bad because it divides people, and is a cause of conflict and war.


    The emphasis on peaceful coexistence doesn’t mean that the Soviet Union accepted a static world with clear lines. Socialism is inevitable and the "correlations of forces" were moving towards socialism.
