Inamzhon Usmankhodzhaev, USSR Politician.
Usmankhodzhaev, Inamzhon was born in 1930.
Graduated from the Central Asian Polytechnical Institute in Tashkent, 1955.
Uzbek. Joined the Communist Party in 1958. Worked as an engineer, and construction section chief of Ferganavodstroi Trust (irrigation project). Chief architect of Margilan city, 1955-1960.
Instructor on an Oblast’ Committee of the Uzbek CP.
Chairman of Syr-Daria City Executive Committee Secretary of Syr-Daria Oblast’ Committee of the Uzbek CP, 1960-1969. Instructor in a department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, 1969-1972. Chairman of Namangan Oblast’ Executive Committee, 1972-1974.
1st Secretary of Andizhan Oblast’ Uzbek CP, 1974-1978. Member of the Central Committee of the Uzbek CP, 1978. Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Uzbek SSR, 1978.
Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the USSR Supreme Soviet, 1979. 1st Secretary of Uzbek CP Central Committee From 1987, pursuing Gorbachev’s policy of glasnost in Uzbekistan.
