Boris Vannikov, USSR Col.-general. Highly decorated (6 Orders of Lenin).


  • Vannikov, Boris was born on September 7, 1897 in Baku. Son of a worker.

  • Career

    • Took part in the Civil War in the Caucasus. In the 1920s, director of several machine building factories. From 1937, in the Ministry of Armaments.

      Minister (peoples commissar) of Munitions during World War II, 1942-1946. Organized the immense war effort in this field.


    Religion is bad because it divides people, and is a cause of conflict and war.


    The emphasis on peaceful coexistence doesn’t mean that the Soviet Union accepted a static world with clear lines. Socialism is inevitable and the "correlations of forces" were moving towards socialism.
