    • Took part in World War I as a naval officer. Joined the Red Navy, 1919. Took part in the Civil War as a naval artillery officer.

      In the 1920s, commanded the Red Navy in the Black, Caspian and Baltic seas. Chairman of the cttee. for commissioning new navy ships from 1927. Retired 1947.
