Anatolii Zhelezniakov, USSR Sailor, revolutionary.
Zhelezniakov, Anatolii was born in 1895.
Sailor in the Baltic fleet. During 1917, one of the revolutionary leaders of the sailors. At first an anarchist, later joined the Bolsheviks, and became one of the organizers of the Red sailors as the main military force of the Bolshevik take-over in October 1917.
Took part in the storming of the Winter Palace, October 1917. Best remembered for his role as the Commander of the Bolshevik Guard of the Constituent Assembly, who closed the first and only session of the Assembly by declaring that ‘the guard is tired’. During the Civil War, fought in the Ukraine (on ships and armoured trains).
Mortally wounded near Verkhovtsevo station.
