  • Orme, John Pinckney was born on November 28, 1852 in Poolesville, Maryland, United States. Son of Charles Henry and Deborah (Pleasants) Orme.

  • Education

    • Civil engineering course, University of Missouri, 1869-1870.

    Career

    • Engaged as civil engineer until 1877. Settled on homestead in Arizona, 1878, later took up timber claim and 320 acres under desert act. Surveyed and built second canal in Salt River Valley, 1879, and director same until 1918.

      Retired from active business, 1918.
