Marshall, Benjamin Howard was born on May 5, 1874 in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Son of Caleb H. and Celia F. (LeBaillie) Marshall.
Educated Harvard Seh., Chicago.
At 19 became office boy for H. R. Wilson, architect, and at 21 was given half interest in the business, the firm becoming Wilson & Marshall. Practiced alone, 1902-1905. With Charles E. Fox, as Marshall & Fox, 1905-1924.
Firm architects Blackstone Hotel, Blackstone Theatre, Edgewater Beach Hotel, Drake Hotel, Steger Building, Burlington Building (Chicago), Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Building (Milwaukee), Forrest Theatre (Philadelphia), Maxine Elliott’s Theatre (New York). Drew plans for Victory Memorial, Chicago tribute to heroes of World War. In practice alone since 1924.
