    • In offices of various architects, 1881-1884. Associate with Major Francis D. Lee, widely known architect of St. Louis, Missouri, until his death, 1885, succeeding to his business. Practiced on own account in St. Louis and other cities, 1886-1903.

      Removed to Los Angeles, 1903. Associated with firm Austin & Ashley, 1926-1935. Architect for the H. W. Hellmanr Building, Hamburger Department Store, 2d Church of Christ, Scientist, Security Bank, Merchants National Bank, Los Angeles Brewery, public schools and many private residences, notably those of E. L. Doheny, Judson C. Rives, Robert Marsh, E. W. Britt, A. J. McQuatters, C. Leonardt, John Howze, James B. True.
