    Career

    • Clair, Michigan, September 13, 1870 (died, 1894). 2d, Mistress Susanna Bransford-Emery, of Salt Lake City, Utah, October 12, 1899. Enlisted as private in Union Army February 7, 1862, and served as corporal, sergeant major, First lieutenant and adjunct, and captain until mustered out, July, 1865.

      Participated in many battles and skirmishes. Recommended for brevetted commission at close of war. Engaged with John L. Woods, of Lexington, Michigan, in lumber business, 1865.

      Was taken into partnership, 1870, business being conducted under various names, as Woods & Company, Pack, Woods & Company, etc. Has also been president mining companies, steamship companies, manufactories, etc., but has been connected with nothing in the nature of a “trust”. Retired from active business, 1898.

      President Galigher Machinery Company, Salt Lake City. Vice president Yosemite Dredging & Mining Company. Extensively interested in ranching, and in irrigated lands in Idaho.
