    Career

    • Engaged in banking business. Government director, 1882-1884, company director, 1884, U.P. Railway. Resigned when Charles F. Adams became president.

      Later director Oregon & Transcontinental (vice president 1889) and Oregon Railway & Navigation Company, and of N.P. R.R. Was on executive and financial coms. of latter, Vice-President Duluth & Manitoba R.R. Became interested in Wisconsin Central R.R., 1884, and one of its trustees.

      Vice president North American Company until 1889. Member, 1889, of reorganized Committee of M.,K.&T. Railway and soon after 1st vice president M.,K.&T. Railway of Texas. Later senior partner in Stock Exchange house of Colgate Hoyt & Company.

      Also vice president St. Joseph. South Bend & Southern Railroad Company. Director, Executive Committee United States Cast Iron Pipe & Foundry Company.
