      Commissioner and president Park Board, New York, 1887-1890. Commissioner and treasurer original board commissioner Niagara State Reservation. Lieutenant colonel and acting adjutant general 1st Brigade N.G.S.N.Y. Declined appointment as assistant secretary state from President Cleveland, 1887.
