    Career

    • At 15 entered Clydesdale Bank as messenger. Emigrated to Halifax, Nova Scoti, 1880, and secured position in Bank of Nova Scoti. Was manager of its branch at Fredericton, N.B., 1883-1888.

      Assistant cashier American Exchange Bank, Duluth, Minnesota, 1888-1890. Cashier Northwestern National Bank, Minneapolis, 1890-1895. Vice president, 1896-1898, president 1898-1900, Union National Bank, which was merged into First National Bank of Chicago, of which his brother was president.

      Organized, 1907, and president National City Bank of Chicago, until National City Bank was merged, 1925, with National Bank of the Republic, of which is v. chairman. Home: Evanston, Ill.
