      Postmaster of New Orleans, 1916-1924. Took part in White League movement, 1874, as member of Roman Rifles. Elected to lead Citizens’ League movement in New Orleans, 1896, which resulted in defeat regular Democratic municipal ticket, and installation of a reform administration.

      Member and vice chairman Democratic State Central Committee, 1900-1906 (chairman 1906-1908). Member Louisiana Senate, session 1904, resigned, September 1904. Chairman Yellow Fever Fund Committee, 1905.
