Organizer and first president Birmingham Savings Bank, merged with American Trust & Savings Bank, of which was a director for many years. Bank merged into American-Traders National Bank which was merged into First National Bank of Birmingham. Retired from active business, 1908, and has since spent most of time abroad, principally at Paris, but maintains legal citizenship at Birmingham.
Under appointment as special assistant of Department of State, served, 1918-1919, as foreign agent of War Trade Board, at Berne, Switzerland, and at Paris.
