Kirchner, George Henry was born on January 1, 1866 in Detroit, Michigan, United States. Son of Sebastian and Mary Ann (Luttenbacher) Kirchner.
Educated St. Joseph’s Parochial School, Detroit.
Began business career as office boy, attorney’s office, 1880. Messenger for private bank, 1881-1885. Bookkeeper for contractor, 1885-1889.
Teller City Savings Bank, Detroit, 1889-1894. Assistant cashier German American Bank (name changed to First State Bank, 1917), 1894-1901, cashier, 1901-1912, president, 1912-1927. Chairman of the Board Griswold-First State Bank, 1927-1928.
Retired January 1, 1929. Appointed conservator Union Guardian Trust Company, Detroit, 1933, president, since 1934.
Married Fina Valentin, of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, June 23, 1892. Children: Ralph T., Angus M., George H., Virginia (Mistress William F. McDonnell), Constance (Mistress Frank J. Murphy).
