      With brother Edward had charge of Welles Estate at Wyalusing, 1848-1863. Removed to Wilkes-Barre, 1863, at request of maternal uncle, George M. Hollenback, adopting his surname. Became prominent in local affairs.

      Member city council; president People’s Bank, Wilkes-Barre. President Hollenback Cemetery Association, Harry Hillman Academy, Wilkes-Barre Lace Manufacturing Сompany. Vice president and director City Hospital, Spring Brook Water Supply Company Director Wilkes-Barre Young Men’s Christian Association.

      Trustee Lafayette College since 1865, and has made many gifts to college Address: Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
